"An easy going romance for teens. It was a great Blind Date with a Book read!" ~Shealyn M.
“The Psionics” is a brilliant string-tied series written by Tash McAdam. The three novels are based on a UV-burned dystopian society with communities unaffected by the sun’s highly damaging temperatures. Telekinetic and Psionic human beings create safety shields around these cities, which protects them from the damaging rays produced by the sun. Where the Psionics aren’t able to push out their shield-like awareness, it is considered a slump territory. The unusually gifted people are mostly captivated, where they are regularly used for law enforcement, tracking, investigating one’s mind, and much more. When they complete their mission, they are placed in “The Tank;” an eight feet by four feet cylindrical glass chamber filled with an oxygenated liquid to clear, reorganize, and manipulate the memories of those placed in The Tank. They are mindless drones used like puppets on a set of strings, virtually manhandled by The Institute. Only one organization known as ARC can set the course changing. ARC, the Anti-Reprogramming Collective, is the one thing fighting The Institute. In a world fraught with danger for someone possessing telepathic powers, only ARC is safe. But as more gifted men and women find and join ARC, the information that The Institute gains are ever more crucial to taking down ARC, meaning the end to telepaths that will have any freedom. Will The Institute find ARC, and take their soldiers to be used as re-programmable flesh and bones? Or will ARC fight The Institute, and fight for their freedom? Find out with book one, “I Am The Storm.”
Review by Chris Judge-Solberg "I loved this book so much because it showed the life of a girl who is trying to follow her dreams of becoming a rapper (like her father). Although some people are negative towards her, she tries to show people the obstacles she is facing in life by putting them in her songs. She becomes the most famous rapper!" ~Angelina "Tugs at your heart, romantic story with some funny moments. I would highly recommend this book to high school girls". "Romantic, funny, and a page turner; it will keep you guessing who SN is...perfect for a pick me up quick(ish) read". "Not your typical teen romance. Put this on your must-read list!".
